Robert Canova is a senior examiner in the Division of Supervision and Regulation at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. In this role, he is responsible for inspections and surveillance for a portfolio of holding companies with consolidated assets between $3 billion and $10 billion. Robert also provides accounting-related supervisory support to examination teams, including addressing accounting-related issues and educating examiners on changes in accounting guidance. He was also a financial analyst in Supervision, leading a team of analysts that produced market intelligence reports for use in state member community bank examinations, and a financial expert in the Bank’s Financial Statistics Division, serving as a resource for technical accounting issues in regulatory reporting. Before joining the Federal Reserve, Robert spent 12 years in the Trust Department and Controller’s Division at SunTrust Banks, Inc. He is a certified public accountant and has an M.B.A. from Georgia State University.
